I'm an independent writer, director, and actor.

I wrote and directed my first feature film, Geek Loves Punk, and I'm in development on my second feature film. I’m in the process of following my dreams. Join me. We’ll follow our dreams together.

I grew up in Southampton County, Virginia — famous for the Nat Turner Rebellion, a precursor to the Civil War. In 4th grade, my class took a school bus tour where a Black American historian proudly narrated exactly where it happened: "So, here's where they killed a bunch of slave owners, and over there is where they killed slave owners." He was proud. It was awesome. I'm so glad the North won the Civil War. Seriously — it's good the North won the Civil War.

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English from Virginia Commonwealth University. Go Rams! I lived in Oakland, CA for many years — right next door to San Francisco — and that's where I finished my feature film, Geek Loves Punk. And yes, I found my soul in Oakland, just like the t-shirts say.

WHY DOES THIS MATTER?

Because Productive Creativity isn't about wishing, it’s about making art.

We can't control when or how our big break comes. What we can control is whether we show up everyday to make our art.  The world needs our art.

We can control our day. Who wants to achieve their dreams alone? Not me.

MY CREDITS (SO FAR)

  • High school, 1990s — Placed top 10, Drexel University High School Screenplay Contest. Got a letter inviting me to apply to their screenwriting program. I was a country bumpkin too afraid to move to Philly.

  • Scary Cow Competition, San Francisco — Placed with the short film Forget Me Not.

  • Scary Cow Competition, San Francisco — Placed again with the short film Geek Loves Punk, winning $1,500 — which I used to fund the feature film version.

  • TLC, ~2010 — Featured in a reality show about adult virgins. Kind of embarrassing. Also got recognized in public afterward — by straight folks and the LGBTQ community alike — and they loved me. Paid $3,000.

  • Screenplay for hire — Wrote a horror/street version of Romeo & Juliet for a producer friend. Never produced. Paid $1,000.

  • Geek Loves Punk — Finished the feature film, funded in part by that short film prize money. Distributed on Amazon for a few years.

  • Attack of the Palisade Peaches — Placed in the 2026 Film Score Fest, Denver, Colorado.

I'm not Martin Scorsese. But not bad for a country bumpkin.
